Be Intentive LLC is a civic-minded and equity-focused strategic consultancy working with individuals and organizations in education, culture, and the arts. Our mission is to help you move ideas forward and create people-centered approaches that engage and work with communities to create capacity for equity and social justice.

We specialize in working with organizations, groups, and individuals that are civic-minded, work in the arts & culture or education sectors, and are looking for ways to create equity and make change.

We believe that people have the knowledge and innovation to create change with their communities. We provide the tools, coaching, and a process to make that intent and vision real and not another set of notebooks on a dusty shelf or a one-time conversation. We use digital technology to work closely with our clients and provide them with resources.

Launched in December 2020 by José Feliciano, Be Intentive LLC was started to formalize the strategy, coaching, facilitation, and mentorship work its founder was already doing, with the hope that more people would benefit from his experience and approach.

Be Intentive is guided by its core values of integrity, equity, community, and transformation to help clients be intentive, plan, and work inclusively to take action and create social impact.

I’m José Feliciano.

I have a professional background in nonprofit administration, education, and community engagement. I’ve spent the past decade working with organizations, groups, and individuals mostly in the New England region. During this time, I helped folks create strategies and programs that build connections, tap into people’s strengths, design learning opportunities, and help create and foster equity and change.

I launched Be Intentive LLC in December 2020 to provide consulting, coaching, facilitation, and mentorship. I work with folks who are civic-minded, work in the arts & culture or education sectors, and believe in building relationships, equity, and social justice.

I get excited about being able to create unique plans to fulfill clients’ needs. My approach has been inspired by mentors in places like NALAC (National Association of Latino Arts and Cultures); the Community Leadership Program; and MuseumCamp. I pull from existing models and research from places like Community Centric Fundraising and Createquity. As a certified educator in the state of Connecticut, my education work is informed by my time in 7-12th grade classrooms, teaching college students, and creating learning engagements for the public.
